Okay… so we aren’t chasing down alien life forms with Will Smith but we are taking over one of the best 2 day festivals in town, Independents’ Day!
This grassroots festival, now in it’s 9th year has grown a great deal since it’s early inception in the alley ways of downtown Columbus. Nine years ago folks were still scared and hesitant to come downtown in the evening for live music, food and crafts. How the city landscape has changed, as has the footprint of ID.
With more space to spread out, ID has called the neighborhood of Franklinton home for the last 3 years. There are more interactive elements to experience this year, more elaborate decorated stages to take in local and regional bands and our favorite part more crafts to shop from and gobble up.
While we are not the only crafty section of ID, you can also shop Columbus Handmade, Comics, Independent Small Business’s, a print collaboration and the African Village Festival. Each group showcasing talent and offering festival attendees a glimpse of what they do best. Also joining us will be CCAD, who will be hosting a DIY experience in promotion of their new undergraduate program being launched in 2017. Take in the Columbus chapter of Googly Eye University and receive your degree in DIY.
With Outlaws you’ll find 25 vendors in all, so we offer you a gift guide to help navigate your shopping experience.
Today we share our first of 5 Gift Guides for those who might not know who we are. Craftin’ Outlaws, is now in our 11th year, we are dedicated to bringing a DIY attitude and celebration of the best of handmade with an irreverent edge to the city of Columbus.
