Shop Review – Wholly Craft

Before Etsy, Instagram, and the modern world of indie craft shows and stores there was Wholly Craft. Opened in 2005 by Olivera Bratich, Wholly Craft has been the go-to, local spot for all things handmade in Columbus for the past 12 years.

After graduating with a masters degree in Women’s Studies and working as a bar manager in town, Olivera helped organize a feminist music festival that inspired her. She saw indie craft vendors that were growing in popularity and realized that there wasn’t a location where these products could be found year round.

Wholly Craft opened in Clintonville, Ohio in a tiny 300 square foot store featuring about 40 vendors and has grown over the years to fill a space over 2,000 square feet, featuring over 400 vendors. It is now known as one of the best gift shops in Columbus and the best place to find unique, hand crafted, ethically produced gifts for everyone on your list.

Olivera has described Wholly Craft as an affirmational brand rather than an aspirational brand. She hopes people can walk into the store and find a niche product that they can pick up and be proud to share their beliefs and passions with others. It’s the perfect spot to come and find exactly what you didn’t even know you needed.

You can also find a wide variety of workshops and craft nights at the shop. Many workshops are offered by the vendors that have products available at the shop. So you get a fun night out and you have the opportunity to connect with some of your favorite local artists.

A visit to Wholly Craft would not be complete without stopping by The Supply Closet. Every crafter has a stash of unused craft supplies, The Supply Closet is the perfect place to donate those supplies and give them a new life to the next crafty person they encounter. It is open during regular business hours and you can shop for individual items and name your price or you can fill a basket for $10. The proceeds from The Supply Closet support free craft programs for kids and Women Crafting Change.

Wholly Craft is always looking for new vendors, artists that are interested in being featured in the shop can apply on their website. You can visit Wholly Craft in Clintonville, Ohio to find something unique for everyone you know.

Wholly Craft is located at 3515 N High St, Columbus, OH 43214

Sewing, crafting, and hoarding fabric are a few of my favorite things.
