Last minute guide to Craftin’ Outlaws

Joining us on Sunday, December 8th at the Columbus Museum of Art are makers from all over the Midwest and representing every inch of Ohio. Doors open at 10am and close at 5pm, which reflect the operating hours of the Museum. Don’t forget you get free access to the Museum, minus any special exhibits taking place, the fair and the Museum are both FREE to attend.

Craftin’ Outlaws will be located on the second floor within the Events Pavilion, Derby Court and Broad Street Lobby, all rooms being adjacent by hallways or a small flight of stairs. All spaces are accessible by elevators or stairs. A variety of make and take experiences will be located on the first floor of the Museum within the Studio and Innovation Lab.

A DIY coat check awaits guests on the first floor near the entrance of the museum.

Parking is available in the Museum’s pay lot or find free parking in many of the over flow lots. All parking meters are free on Sundays. The Columbus Museum of Art is located at 480 East Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43215.

CONTEST NOW CLOSED: SWAG BAG GIVEAWAY We are giving away 15 tote bags to celebrate our 15th year of Craftin’ Outlaws! Stuffed with goodness from sponsors and vendors. Sign up now to get registered. Winners will be announced on December 1st. Totes must be picked up and received on the day of the fair. No exceptions. Sign up here. CRAFT CRAWL: Located on 1st floor in the Innovation Lab, starts at 1pm  – Kids love coming to our event and this is a shopping experience designed just for them! Designed for children aged 3 – 12 years old,  our Craft Crawl allows for shopping handmade items between $5 – $10! Vendors and sponsors are donating their crafts for a kid friendly shopping experience.  Proceeds raised are going to our non-profit partner, Midwest Craft Con.

SECRET SANTA: Located on 1st floor in the Innovation Lab  Other shows offer you pictures with Santa but we are Outlaws and this is Columbus, home to the best drag performers in the world. Jamz Dean will join us again as a celebrity drag king Santa. Get ready to have the best family holiday card on the block! Who will grace us with their holiday presence? You’ll have to wait to find out.

LACEMAKERS OF CENTRAL OHIO Located on 1st floor in the Studio Learn the craft of lace making with interactive demos. Bobbin Lace is one method in which lace has been made since the 1500’s.  Individual bobbins are attached to individual threads and manipulated in a weaving technique.

MADE IN CBUS Located on 1st floor in the Studio Stop by the Experience Columbus booth and pick up your Made In Cbus passport, which showcases local retail shops. For those who have all ready completed a passport come by and pick up your swag.

CRAFT PODCAST Located in Section 65. Become a part of craft history as the podcast The Just Craft joins us to capture your views on ethically-minded makers.

TAROT CARD READINGS Located in Section 65. ~ RaDonna Reed offers guidance through tarot, reiki and mediumship. She creates spaces for people to heal, look inward, and gain understanding. Radonna will also have  a line of affirmation cards, homemade bath soaks and more available for sale.

FAIR TRADE OHIO ~ Located in Broad St. Lobby Shop Fair Trade products from Fair Trade Columbus members: Global Gifts, World Peaces, Haven Herbs, Global Gallery, and more!

SEWKART ~ Located in Studio Grab a seat and sew your own scrunchie! Sew Kart will teach us how to craft one of these from start to finish. Guests can also buy a boxed kit if they want to take it home and make it, along with written instruction or buy a pre-made one.

Hopefully we are the first smiling faces you see before you enter the craft show! Stop by for general questions, grab some Outlaws merch and buy handmade from event organizers. You’ll also find Outlaws merch and items from the organizing team that produces Craftin’ Outlaws.

Our 2019 artwork has been designed by local artist, Leigh Cox Illustrations.
