Craftin’ Announcements

In a normal year, after the culmination of a successful Winter Marketplace, the team at Craftin’ Outlaws hosts a wrap-up meeting and starts shifting our focus over to the next batch of events. This repetitive cycle of producing an event and then planning the next has been ingrained in my nature since taking over Craftin’ Outlaws since 2005. The weight of the Pandemic and the reactionary response of pivoting to online markets, not once but 3 times in 2020, creating digital catalogs and a string of pop-ups events (which was a race between providing makers a safe space to sell but had to fight against unpredictable weather conditions) all combined have taken their toll.

The Outlaws team will take sometime to step back and allow ourselves space to refocus and re-shift for the over the next few months.

This means there will not be a Spring Marketplace for Craftin’ Outlaws. We know that this loss affects our maker community deeply and financially. We also know that there are plenty of events which continue to place their energy on fairs and marketplaces. We will help our fans and exhibitors get in touch with those outlets, see the list of organizations below.

This time off will also allow for new opportunities. Specifically, Craftin’ Outlaws and Midwest Craft Con will combine forces. Midwest Craft Con is a 501c3 non-profit which hosts educational experiences for crafting artists. Combining both missions into one space allows us to be more intentional with our operations. These adjustments only affect the back of house more than anything. All additional updates will come in the form of newsletters, use the LINK to stay up to date. The social media accounts will remain the same for now, as will this website.

Keep being an Outlaw at home and around town. We will see you all again in the summer of 2022, as we start planning the return of our holiday marketplace. You can support all our artists using our digital catalogs.

All our love and thanks,

Megan Green and the Outlaws team (Mallory, Cheryl and Sam)
