2021 Holiday Show announcements

We are gathering once again.

We will return to the Columbus Museum of Art with a one day, in-person craft celebration. There are are a number of ways and chances for fans and creative businesses to partner with us as we reemerge from the pandemic.

Join us on Sunday, December 5th from 12pm – 4pm for all the arts and crafts.

Applications

Exhibitors interested in joining us to sell their goods: applications will open August 1 – September 15th. Accepted artists will receive a 6ft table space, online promotions which include a 2 page spread in our digital catalog.

Craftin’ Outlaws is a juried event. Notification letters will be sent out by September 20, 2021. Payment fees to sell are $225. Thirty makers will be accepted into the holiday market.

Building Craftin’ Communities 2022

Become a financial supporter and help us in Building Craftin’ Communities, a campaign that asks our creative fans to helps support the next group of Outlaws through a 5 month virtual program and covers the exhibitor fees for newly established handmade business owners to sell at our in-person Spring Marketplace. Lead by Craftin’ Outlaw mentors and the Outlaws organizing team. You receive handmade perks for your patronage while giving back education and team building experiences for the next generation of makers. Help us reach our goal of $10,000 which provides 10 creatives with tools and the selling space to take their business to the next level.

Calling all lovers of art and crafts! Find Craftin’ Outlaws outside the walkway of the Columbus Museum of Art on the last two Saturdays from 10am – 3pm. Makers will be set up for in-person shopping. Artists will be set up on July 24th and July 31st.

July 24th

Pajaro Negro – Yellow Springs, OH – Taking the forgotten beauty in nature and responsibly bringing out the delicate beauty through each jewelry piece.

AdoreJules – Powell, OH – Handcrafted Resin or Hand-stamped Jewelry. Each piece in resin work will be unique. There will always be variations in design. I hand-stamp single letter/design so there will be variations in alignment, surface and depth of character in each piece.

Nicole Zupich Art – Galena, OH – Nicole is a landscape and fluid artist. She paints oil landscapes & seascapes, as well as acrylic pouring on canvas and resin geode coasters and wine caddies.

Global Gifts – Columbus, OH – Global Gifts is a non-profit business committed to creating sustainable economic opportunities and safe and equitable working conditions for disadvantaged artisans and farmers around the world. From jewelry and home goods to toys and food items, our Fair Trade shop is filled with handmade, one-of-a-kind items from over 40 different countries.

Little Shop of Floras – Akron, OH – Little Shop of Floras is a woman-owned, small business. It gives them great joy to incorporate the natural world into any dwelling with handmade macrame propagation planters and shelves, flower art, as well as other home decor items.

piinkrete – Circleville, OH – Piinkrete tries to be mindful of the materials they use and the waste they produce. Their handmade concrete goods are made using reclaimed materials like glass and plastic.

World Peaces – Columbus, OH – World Peaces is a Fair Trade Company-a collaborative effort to make the world a little more peaceful, a little more beautiful, a little more equitable. We partner with amazing non-profits, artisans, stores and you to connect the world in simple, human and creative ways. In our products we hope you find delight, a celebration of culture, and an opportunity to connect with people from around the world.

July 31

Antilabel – Columbus, OH – One of a kind apparel, made from scratch and using unconventional fabrics. Colorways range from blinding neon to dingy greens, and of course black! Style can be described as “Pretty Ugly”, with feminine silhouettes and rough edged detailing. Currently trying to be more size inclusive, creating some pieces up to 2X.

Emergent Art and Craft – Columbus, OH – Emergent Art and Craft is a gallery in the Short North neighborhood featuring local art and artisans. Our focus is on less established artists and less established collectors, offering a wide selection on fine art, decorative items, and gifts all handmade in Ohio.

Glean – Columbus, OH – Glean sells handmade and small batch luxurious and unique bath and body products.

Fable Plants – Covington, KY – We sell a curated collection of houseplants, plant care items, modern and vintage planters, and plant accessories! We want to make it easy for every person to find the right plant for their space and their life.

Wishbone – Dayton, OH – Wishbone dances on the line between strange and beautiful, utilizing plants, flowers, bones and more to create jewelry. She also creates small batch bath teas and salves, as well as concrete Medusa plaques

Wayward Bloom Ceramics – Delaware, OH – Wayward Bloom Ceramics focuses on whimsical hand-built ceramic flasks, mugs, bottles, pendants, and flowers. We focus on small batch work with sculpted, printed, or drawn designs, and each item is one of a kind! From birds, to bees, to even sculpted mushrooms growing out of trees, Wayward Bloom has organic nature-inspired designs for any outdoor lover. Alissa Renzetti – Columbus, OH – Original surrealist art dolls. Dolls are sculpted, painted, sewn and constructed.

Fox Designs Jewelry: Logan, Ohio – Fox Designs Jewelry specializes in recycled guitar string jewelry saved from the landfill by local independent music shops in southeast and central Ohio with a portion of proceeds going to support youth music scholarships.

The Fabulous Fennyl – Westerville, OH – The Fabulous Fennyl is a bath and body business that creates fun and pretty bath products and gift that are good for the mind, body and soul.

Joshua Schottenstein Pottery: Columbus, OH – Handcrafted functional and decorative pottery, primarily made on the potter’s wheel.

Gabriel Guyer – Columbus, OH – I am a Traditional Artist creating 2D Mixed Media with a blend of Acrylics, Ink, and Pencil on Wood Panels and Live Edge Slices. Harnessing vibrant colors and hard lines, my work has an illustrative style that ranges from Endangered Species to Fantasy and Religion.

Old Salts Leatherworks – Columbus, OH – Brandon Ault started working with leather to pass the time during long sea passages in the caribbean. Since 2008, Brandon turned that hobby into a full time passion with the creation of Old Salts Leatherworks. From hip pouches and totes, to his signature front pocket wallet, straight forward, honest designs are the foundation of his craft.

May Pop-up Markets

Bound To Help Books – Dublin, OH: At Bound To Help Books, we revitalize beautiful vintage books by handsewing new pages inside the old covers. Well-loved books get a chance to hold new voices and memories as journals, guest books, or scrapbooks–and every book sold generates a donation to a literary-focused nonprofit!

Glass Sky Jewelry – Columbus, OH: Glass Sky blends nuance and geometry with a touch of storytelling to create jewelry made to celebrate and embolden your strong, natural spirit. Artist Andrea Kaiser hopes that the pieces can inspire and support, becoming staples of your style and spirit!

May 15

Pot Head Pottery – Cincinnati, OH: Nicole Reblando is a local Cincinnati artist creating fun and whimsical miniature pottery for air plants. She creates several types of mini busts and ornaments from polymer clay. She use handbuilding slab construction combined with using carving tools to create unique faces and creatures and when combined with the air plants as the hair, they each create unique personalities. Hence the name of her company, Pot Head Pottery. Plus Nicole creates vases that are replica of elements found in nature that act as natural vases like driftwood & stumps.

Ark Ellie Knits – Columbus, OH: I sell a variety of things that I make with a combination machine knitting and hand embellishments. I also dabble in other crafts.

Shannon Marie Makes – Strongsville, OH: Shannon Marie Makes mixed media magic! Whimsical home decor items inspired by the natural world.

REspoke Clothes – Powell, OH: REspoke Clothes is a sustainable handmade clothing brand. Created from 100% upcycled vintage and reclaimed materials, our clothes are classic, vintage-inspired and one-of-a-kind! We strive to be an inspiration to RElove the clothes you have, and to dress in a more sustainable way!

Daniel Morris Gallery – Columbus, OH: Art by Daniel Morris. Acrylic on Bristol and prints.

SquidCat, Ink – Columbus, OH: If you love animals and you love puns, we have the perfect cards for you! SquidCat, Ink is a line of greeting cards and prints based off artist Simran Khaira’s watercolor illustrations. All design work and printing is done in Columbus, OH on 100% recycled paper.

Libby Varner Fine Art – Independence, KY: I like to rescue old postage stamps by making them into wearable art.

Thom Glick – Columbus, OH: Thom Glick is an artist specializing in unique, uplifting, and illustrative items, including custom art, original art, prints, t-shirts, bandanas, postcards, and more.

Fabric Stickers with the Sewing Hive

This DIY will show you how to make and embroider a “fabric sticker” to add Holiday Cheer to your accessories. This is also known as applique. It can be used to decorate t-shirts, fabric gift bags, linens, jeans, or whatever fabric object could use a touch of fun this season. 

The supplies required are:

  • fabric with a motif, like the one on the bag
  • double-sided fusible interfacing, like Wonder-Under brand from Pelloniron,
  • ironing board and a pressing cloth
  • embroidery hand stitching needle
  • embroidery floss
  • craft scissors and fabric scissors or pinking scissors
  • straight pins


There will be kits available to purchase for those who would like order from The Sewing Hive website that include:-a pre-cut and prepared fabric for applique with the sticky back attached (motif choices: snowman, holiday cars, winter sweaters and gingerbread houses)-embroidery floss and in contrasting color-handmade 7″x 9″ drawstring bag ( color choices: red, navy, aqua, evergreen, winter white, cobalt blue) with contrasting ribbon and beads-written instructions with a YouTube link you can use to do a “sew-along”

Customers that order kits will need to supply their own needles, ironing equipment and straight pins. This is for safety reasons. Kits can be mailed (a shipping fee will be included) or picked up at The Sewing Hive in Columbus, Ohio.

Pretty Papel – Columbus, OH – Unique paper creations designed to delight, decorate your space, and celebrate the good things. Handmade in Columbus, Ohio.

Daphnia Ceramics – Columbus, OH – Daphnia Ceramics is a Columbus-based ceramics studio run by Emily Cline. Emily makes everything by hand, and combines her passion for printmaking with her ceramic work. She uses hand-drawn images and turns them into screen-printed patterns that are transferred to the surface of the clay. Many of her patterns are inspired by the local flora and fauna of the woods here in central Ohio including morel mushrooms, ferns, chicory flowers, and spicebush.

CBlake Art – Orient, OH – CBlake Art offers mixed media abstract art often with botanical elements. They sell their original paintings on canvas and paper, as well as high quality fine art prints and notecards.

JWStickerShop – Newark, OH – JW Sticker Shop is a digital artist that turns their art into stickers, keychains, bookmarks and more. They love turning their art into affordable pieces that can be obtainable to a wide audience.

The Raccoon Horde – Columbus, OH – Fantastical resin and mixed media designs for your inner trash panda created locally.
